It’s just low season …

It’s just low season …

It’s just low season …

Are you are thinking that tourism is over and that no one will visit your city and your facility anymore? Well try to close your eyes for a moment and think that is just a terrible low season …

There are still many accommodation facilities out there that live off seasonal tourism; the tourism boom of the last few years almost made us forget that sometimes the demand declines. The Co-Vid 19 is nothing else that a long, very low season where people are increasingly worried that it may never come to an end.

With this in mind, just try to stop, think and act. What actions do you normally take when the demand is stagnant in the off-season? Perhaps create a few promotions? It is a good idea to reward brave tourists who travel despite the world trying to stop the world.

If things are not going well it might be a good idea to take advantage of the situation and do those small interventions and re-organisation jobs needed or that guests have pointed out in the reviews. Even powerful Ferraris need a stop the pits every now and again after all. Is your property in perfect conditions? I doubt it, but if that’s the case, then why not considering taking a nice holiday before the next high, or rather very high season.

The events, the most important, those not to be missed, have not been cancelled, they have just been postponed; the energy that will be unleashed in the tourism field when we get over this period is unpredictable.

This is the time to give your best.

Review your rates, ease as much as possible all the restrictions and prepare to take what the market can give, without any particular expectation. Big hotels and big groups have already started offering privileges and discounts and you certainly can’t be less. It’s the market law, the price determines the demand; don’t waste your time trying to come up with some weird algorithm that doesn’t exist, simply bless anyone who books today as if he was an angel from heaven. After all low season is not the time to make money; keep strong in this dire time and think in the long term it will be good for your business to remain on track even when you lose and don’t win.
