The property is located in Palazzo Evangelista, an elegant historic building from 1700 situated in the center of Fermo. Inhabited by the counts Bernetti Evangelista, the palace is surrounded by the rich historical and social background of the city and the neighbour villages also framed by the Sibillini hills and the Adriatico seaside. Palazzo Evangelista is situated in the eastern part of Fermo, right beneath Piazza del Popolo and in front of Centro Congressi San Martino, in the namesake square.
The first two floors of the palace belong to Resort A Palazzo: the piano nobile was once destined to host parties and receptions, balls and big lunches, and the ground floor with the frescoed sitting rooms which were part of the historic residence of the counts. Five elegant and comfortable suites with high, frescoed and coffered ceilings, living rooms, authentic floors made up of earthenware tiles and marble, and big bright windows.
Each suite has a different personality, the furniture, which is ancient and modern at the same time, and the frescoed ceilings create together a perfect balance in between an ancient and a contemporary world…an attention to details with no ostentation.
Suite Pompeiana: entering this room is like going back in time! You can see beautiful frescoes in Pompeian style, the ceiling on which there is a work by Luigi Fontana called “La notte dei sogni” (The dreamy night) and the sea on the horizon right behind the roofs. But, some of things that catch your eye are also the canopy bed, well-fitted in the room environment, which calls you for a comfortable sleep, and the bathtub half hidden behind an old shield.
Suite Secrétaire: this room gets its name from the carved piece of furniture in which the documents and valuable objects of the family were stored. It doesn’t have a normal lock, you can only open it by moving, with a precise sequence, some parts of the furniture itself. The well painted ceiling stands out thanks to the brightness of the bedroom and the clear walls, and, beside a comfortable sommier bed, you can see a bathtub reflected on an ancient mirror. Resting in this environment surrounded by such beauty and peacefulness lets you leave refreshened.
Suite Angioletto: this suite gets its name from the beautiful fresco on the ceiling. The classic authentic furniture from XIX century stands out thanks to the ancient floor in earthenware tiles and gives the room a cozy and comfortable environment.
When you enter the kitchen, the fireplace with “arola”, where people used to cook and heat up food to serve to parties, instantly catches your eye. The bathroom was recently renovated but it still preserves its old authentic ceiling and it also has a shower box with the hydro-massage. There is nothing more romantic than a night in the Suite Angioletto.
Suite Chiara: his suite gets its name from the count Chiara Evangelista, who provided this palace as dowry, but also from the unique morning light, the clear furniture which is both modern and vintage. The coffered ceiling and the ancient graniglia floor catch your eye, also the bathroom provided with a bathtub has a beautiful ceiling which takes the thunder away from the view of the glimpse of roofs and the sea on the horizon. If in the evening you don’t want to go out, you can open the old walk-in closet, prepare some food on the small kitchen which is inside of it and relax on the comfortable couch with a glass of wine. The comfort and elegance of this room will give you all the beauty of a historic place!
Finally, Suite Dorata: open the door… the light invades a big open space creating a warm environment which gives you the feeling of being wrapped up by the golden yellow of the ancient wallpaper, which enlightens the room with its precious illustrations. The ceiling is in authentic wood and the floor is in graniglia. The ivory colored-beds are decorated with silver knobs and medallions, with carved little angels that will watch over your sleep. The bathroom is big, bright and it’s the best place to relax with a warm bath with hydromassage after a long day spent at the beach or walking around the town.
